The Ethereum price has dropped 2.02% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $456, with over $250M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 34.3% market share of the daily trading volume.
Bank of England to Test DLT Use in New Settlement System
Yesterday, The Bank of England stated that it is undertaking a new proof-of-concept to explore the ways its planned real-time gross settlement (RTGS) system could connect with distributed ledger networks. The statement reads:
“Although the Bank has concluded that distributed ledger technology (DLT) is not yet sufficiently mature to provide the core for the next generation of RTGS, it places a high priority on ensuring that the new service is capable of interfacing with DLT as and when it is developed in the wider sterling markets.”
Bithumb To Support Crypto Payments At 6,000 South Korean Stores
On Monday, South Korea’s cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, partnered with a mobile payment service provider named “Pay’s” to support crypto payments at merchant outlets across the country. The deal involves 200 individual and franchised brands to adopt the service at 6,000 shops, including “Sulbing”, “Café Droptop”, and “Yankee Candle”. Bithumb officials revealed:
“This is part of our goal to create an environment in which cryptocurrencies are used extensively”

Reddit Disables Bitcoin Payments for Reddit Gold Membership
Reddit no longer accepts Bitcoin payments for its premium membership program, Reddit Gold, although the feature may return to the social media platform in the future. Reddit admin, emoney04, explained that several factors led Reddit to disable Bitcoin payments, most notably the fact that Coinbase is launching a new merchant platform. The admin stated.
“Yup that’s right. The upcoming Coinbase change, combined with some bugs around the Bitcoin payment option that were affecting purchases for certain users, led us to remove Bitcoin as a payment option.”
